Jenny Sinnott

Jenny Sinnott is a qualified humanistic and integrative psychotherapist. Jenny is an accredited member of both the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (IACP) and the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP). Jenny has a masters in social work and has also completed numerous other courses such as: Childrens First, Assist Suicide Prevention, Practitioner certificate in working with autistic clients (neuro diverse clients), working with Shame, to name a few.
Jenny is a humanistic and person-centred Psychotherapist with an emphasis on the person’s capacity for change. Jenny has worked within the health care sector for over 13 years. Jenny endeavours to bring about awareness and understanding within the client that can enable healing within the mind, body, and heart. When you come to therapy, you will find a safe, friendly, non-judgemental atmosphere that will allow you to explore, express or confront whatever it is that brought you to the therapy room. Jenny deals with a broad range of issues including anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, low self-esteem, grief, relationship difficulties, addictions, eating problems, anger management, sexuality, stress, self-harm, personal development. Jenny works with both individuals and couples in person sessions and online sessions.

What is Counselling and Psychotherapy?
Counselling and Psychotherapy provide a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space where empathy, compassion and understanding are provided to people who are experiencing personal issues. The therapeutic space can develop freedoms to express doubts, difficulties, and life concerns, while also being a space to develop creativity, flexibility, and spontaneity. To find the joyfulness in life.
How long is the therapy session?
Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes in length.
How often will I attend therapy?
Therapy sessions are typically held weekly at the same time and in the same room. During the first therapy session, the individual and the therapist will work together to determine the frequency of the therapy.
Can I attend therapy online?
Yes online therapy sessions are available and can be arranged between the individual and the therapist.
How long will I need to attend therapy for?
The length needed to address problems depends on each individual and their needs. Both the individual and the therapist will work together to determine the length of the therapy.
Are sessions confidential?
Yes sessions are completely confidential. However, there are some limits to confidentiality such as in dealing with a child or a minor or where there is likelihood of harm to client or self. The therapist will explain confidentiality to you when you meet for the first time.
How much does each session cost?

What do I do if I cannot attend my session?
Cancellations of a session without 48 hours’ notice in advance result in full fee being charged. Wherever possible an alternative date will be offered within the week. Non-attendance at therapy will result in full fee payable.
